Since 1972 Dr Kent has been involved with plastics processing in a variety of sectors ranging from extrusion to injection molding.
He has published over 400 technical papers and articles on plastics and windows and written 2 books on plastics processing and energy management. Dr Kent was awarded the Plastics Industry Award’s 2010 ‘Personal Contribution’ award for his work as a champion of energy efficiency and for helping numerous processors to make savings through better energy use.
Rich Bleck – Tooling Expert
CEO – Procon Training & Consulting
Rich Bleck has been involved in the plastics industry for 40 years. His formal training came from Lakeshore Technical Institute with Plastics Technology as his concentration. His extensive manufacturing experience came from a technically driven injection molding company named Phillips Plastics Corporation.
In his 35 years with Phillips, he was heavily involved with tool design and procurement. Rich also has a solid knowledge of processing engineering grade polymers, hot runners, electro-plating on plastics, process and machine validation, multishot molding, In-mold decorating and process monitoring systems. While in the manufacturing arena he implemented a process monitoring system on 70 presses to auto sort suspect or reject parts, many being sorted by cavity pressure.
His “hands on” experience is valuable in troubleshooting tooling issues and preventing issues before they happen.
Torsten Kruse – Mold Flow Simulation Expert
CEO – Kruse Analysis, Inc.
Torsten Kruse is a highly regarded industry expert in injection molding. Following a successful career with Arburg, Inc. (1986-1995), he formed his own company, Kruse Analysis, Inc. in 1995. He has developed customized in-house training courses for injection molders. He was a main platform speaker at NPE '94, and served as a consultant and part owner in the development of Paulson's Sim-Tech™ injection molding simulator as well as DVD based injection molding training courses.
